Configuring property page display in the Meridian Web Client

By default, the same Objects and Where Used pages that are shown in the Meridian Enterprise PowerUser are also shown in the Meridian Web Client. However, due to technical limitations, the pages do not have the same functionality in the Meridian Web Client as in the Meridian Enterprise PowerUser. However, alternative property pages are provided that support the same functionality in the Meridian Web Client. The pages can be enabled by implementing two VBScript event handlers in the vault's event script.

If your organization has many users who will use the Meridian Web Client to link documents and objects, you can enable the HTML pages to improve their experience. The HTML pages are only for use in the Meridian Web Client and the AssetManagementWhereUsed and AssetManagementTags extensions that show the default pages should not be assigned to any document types or else the default pages will appear in the Meridian Web Client. If both pages are shown, only the HTML pages should be used. The default pages can be ignored in the Meridian Web Client.

Note    Another alternative for the Meridian Web Client is to show the custom external pages described in Configuring property page display in the Meridian Web Client.

To enable the HTML pages in the Meridian Web Client:

  1. Configure the Asset Management Module settings normally as described in Configuring the document to object relationships .
  2. Verify that the AssetManagementWhereUsed and AssetManagementTags extensions are not assigned to any document types as described in the BlueCielo Meridian Asset Management Module Configuration Guide.
  3. Disable frames in the Meridian Web Client by setting the UseFrames registry value to 0 as described in the BlueCielo Meridian Asset Management Module Administrator's Guide.
  4. Add the event handlers to the vault's event script as described in ObjectsPage_IsVisible event and WhereUsedPage_IsVisible event.
